CIBC Report: Alberta consumers ‘punch drunk’ on household debt
As reported in the Calgary Herald, Calgary's housing market has contributed to increased levels of household debt in the province, where families have chased the home ownership dream and where price gains have outstripped incomes.
In Alberta, 38 per cent of households are in the "high-debt-burden" category and they hold 79.2 per cent of all household debt in the province, says a new report released Thursday by CIBC World Markets Inc.
